An online doctor lets you get medical advice without leaving Ireland. You book a time, speak to an Irish-registered GP by video or phone, and receive the same kind of clinical assessment you would expect at a local surgery — for the many problems that do not need a physical examination.

Your consultation is confidential and your doctor follows Irish Medical Council guidelines — the same professional standards that apply to a face-to-face visit.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see an online doctor in Ireland today?

Yes. DrCall appointments are available every day and most patients can be seen the same day. Choose the next available time on our booking page — the earliest bookable slot is 30 minutes from now.

What is an online doctor?

An online doctor is a registered doctor who consults with you remotely, by video or phone, instead of in a surgery. With DrCall you choose a time, tell us what is wrong, and your Irish-registered GP contacts you at your appointment.

Is an online doctor as good as seeing a GP in person in Ireland?

For many everyday problems, yes — much of a GP consultation is a conversation about your symptoms and history. Some problems do need an in-person examination, and your doctor will tell you if that is the case.

How much does an online GP consultation in Ireland cost?

A DrCall online consultation starts from €35. That covers your consultation, including a sick cert, repeat prescription or referral where clinically appropriate. Your card is only authorised when you book and is charged once a GP confirms your appointment.

Do I have to travel to see the doctor?

No. Consultations take place by secure video or phone, so you can be at home in Ireland — or anywhere else in Ireland — and still see an Irish-registered GP.

Can I get a prescription or sick cert online in Ireland?

Yes, where your doctor considers it clinically appropriate. Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose, and sick certs are available for work or college. DrCall cannot prescribe benzodiazepines, Z-drugs, opioids or stimulants.

Is an online doctor consultation private and safe?

Yes. Consultations use secure, GDPR-compliant technology, our doctors follow Irish Medical Council guidelines, and the same doctor–patient confidentiality applies as in a face-to-face visit.
