How online prescriptions work
After your video or phone consultation, your doctor decides whether a prescription is appropriate. If it is, it is sent electronically to the pharmacy you named when you booked, ready for you to collect and pay for at the counter.
Repeat prescriptions
If you are on long-term medication, tell the doctor which medicines you take, the doses, and when you last had a review. Your doctor can then decide whether it is safe to continue your prescription without an in-person visit.
What can’t be prescribed online?
- Benzodiazepines, Z-drugs, opioids and stimulants are not prescribed by DrCall
- Medicines that need close monitoring or a physical examination first
- Anything the doctor does not consider safe to prescribe remotely
What to have ready
- The exact names and strengths of your medicines
- The name and town of your pharmacy
- Details of any allergies and other medicines you take

How much does it cost?

Do I need to pick the pharmacy in advance?
You tell us your pharmacy when you book, so the prescription can be sent to the right place.
