Evening appointments that fit around your day
Work, college and caring for children leave little time to see a doctor between 9 and 5. After-hours online appointments let you speak to a GP once the day is done, from your sofa instead of a waiting room.
The booking page shows the evening times that are free right now, and you can book from 30 minutes ahead.
What an after-hours online doctor can do
- Assess everyday illnesses such as colds, flu, sore throats, ear and chest symptoms
- Advise on urinary, skin, allergy and stomach problems
- Issue a sick certificate for work or college where clinically appropriate
- Send a prescription to your pharmacy where your doctor considers it appropriate
- Tell you honestly if you need to be examined in person tonight or tomorrow
After-hours GP or emergency department?
Emergency departments are for serious or life-threatening problems. For a sore throat, a urinary infection or a rash that can safely be assessed remotely, an after-hours online GP is usually quicker and calmer. If your doctor feels you need to be seen in person, they will say so and explain where to go.
Good to know before you book
- The price starts from €35 — the same in the evening as at any other time
- Your card is authorised, not charged, until a doctor confirms
