How to book an online GP consultation

  1. Choose a day and timeAppointments run every day in 15-minute slots. The earliest time you can book is 30 minutes from now.
  2. Tell us about youComplete a short secure form with your contact details, your regular GP, your pharmacy and the reason for your visit.
  3. Authorise your cardYour card is authorised, not charged. The payment is only taken once a GP confirms your appointment.
  4. Speak to your GPAt your appointment time your doctor consults with you by video or phone and explains the next steps.

What should I have ready?

  • A phone, tablet or computer with a working camera and microphone (or just your phone for a phone consultation)
  • A quiet, private place with a good signal
  • The names of any medicines you take
  • The name and town of your pharmacy
  • Any readings you have, such as temperature or blood pressure

What happens after the consultation?

Depending on what your doctor finds, you may receive medical advice, a prescription sent to your pharmacy, a sick certificate, or a referral. If you need an examination or tests, your doctor will tell you how to get them.

Can every problem be dealt with online?

No — and a good online doctor will say so. Conditions that need a physical examination, emergencies and some medicines cannot be managed remotely. DrCall is not for emergencies (call 112 or 999) or for children under 3.
